THE GARDEN

At Drimlabarra Croft the outside is as important as the house.  The cottage has a large patio with seating for 12 and a barbeque.  The patio is surrounded by a pebbled area with attractive shrubs, is south facing, and even has a large palm tree. On a warm day the garden is a real sun trap. There are a number of parasols, which really are needed on a sunny day!

Three rooms have patio doors out to the garden - the lounge, downstairs bedroom and sun room.

The view changes every day, and if you're lucky you'll catch a beautiful sunset, or a clear moonlit night. Most days you'll see seals just in front of the house, and there are always many sea birds around. You can occasionally see otters playing in the burn and we've even seen dolphins in the sea in front of the house. The island of Pladda dominates the view, with Ailsa Craig just behind. On a clear day you can see Ayrshire to the east, the Mull of Kintyre off to the west, and Northern Ireland way in the distance.

The large balcony above the sun room is accessed from the Master bedroom upstairs and is the perfect spot for watching the seals on the rocks or the sun setting.

The large field directly in front of the house belongs to us and tucked in a sheltered spot (not obstructing the view!) you'll find a swing set with climbing wall.  At the bottom of the field there is a gate, giving you private access to the beach.

To the rear of the property you'll find ample space for up to three cars and a large gravel and grassed area.
