LOCATION

Kildonan is a quiet, peaceful village on the south coast of Arran.

From the gate at the bottom of the field you can get straight to the beach. The section in front of the house is home to many seals and sea birds. A few minutes walk to the east (left as you look out to sea) you'll find a sandy cove. Along to the west (right) you can walk along to some rocks (perfect for climbing on!) and a further two sandy beaches.

The house is next to the Kildonan Hotel, which does lovely food. It also has excellent live music on Sunday afternoons, from the "Drambusters". The camp site next to the hotel has a small shop, handy if you run out of essentials! Kildonan is only about three miles from Whiting Bay, which has a number of shops and cafes.

There are plenty of walks nearby. The Eas Mor waterfall is well worth a trip - not least to see the library in the woods! The start of the path is just about 1km from the house.

The views from near the waterfall are incredible - more dramatic on a cloudy day, like when this was taken.
